Sunday's Whirligig 92

Do you need a nudge to start writing a blog post?  Do you enjoy composing a variety of writing styles from time to time?  If so, you might enjoy trying the challenge at Sunday's Whirligig.  A new challenge is posted each Wednesday with 12 cue words.  You can use as many or as few of the words as you want in your writing, whether it be a poem, a short story, or some other piece of writing.

Was he a good match for her?  

Only time would tell, but she had discovered

that there was more 

to relationships and love 

than how a person dressed.  

Would they someday be drowning 

in monthly payments?  

Would their laps 

distinctly defined in their 20's

later be replaced 

with extra flesh 

making the floor seem harder 

to reach or making it impossible

to see the bottoms 

of their feet?  

Would their very breath 

which came so easily now 

someday cause them to ask 

the other to wait 

a minute before continuing 

up the stairs?  

Would they each be able to help the other 

in times of distress, in times of sadness, or 

in times of sickness?  

Would they sometimes feel

frustrated and lose patience with 

the other where now the realities 

of life were masked 

by love at all times?  

Only time would tell.  If only 

there could be a time 

mirror that reflected 

the future, but would it show 

the growth they each could and 

would be willing to make?  

Would they each feel then, as now, 

I am yours and 

you are mine?
